Mannaz, Man, Madhr

November 25, 2014
Today we are discussing in the Runic Series this day that is called Mannaz in the Elder Futhark, Man in the Anglo-Saxon Futhorc, and Madhr in the Younger Futhark. This Rune is also called Man in the Armnanen Futhork.  One important thing to note is that in the Armanen Futhorc this Rune switches places with the one after in all the other systems.  This is a powerful lesson because of the close relationship that these next two Runes have with one another.  We're going to follow the elder order in the way that we explain things in order to avoid confusion.

Building upon the the relationship that has been built through the initiatory process that the last rune we discussed brings about we find that this Rune we are discussing today is a natural outflow of that experience.  This Rune is the Rune of the perfected human being!  This is not mean perfection in the way that we think of perfection in our ego consciousness.  This means the human being who is in right relationship.  The human being who is in right relationship with their higher genius or fetch.  The human being who is aware of their soul complex in and right relationship with themselves in the multiple aspects that make up who they are.  The human being who because of this balance is in right relationship with their fellow beings and is living in the true will of the multi verse!  In the Younger row the Icelandic poem speaks about men being the adornment of ships.  This again shows the close relationship between this  stave  and the one after it.  Yes, ships were used for fishing, voyaging and going to war.  They were also in many regions considered a vehicle through which one passed from this realm into the spirit world.  In this state of balance and right relationship both internally and externally the person who is using the Runes (or just living life in general) can now traverse the nine worlds and find wisdom on a level never before thought possible.

Until next time...
